The “Foundation For Our Faith” website was developed to provide a resource for new Christian believers, as well as mature believers, in the area of foundational Christian beliefs.  Through the Bible studies contained in this website, the believer can gain a general understanding for most of the foundational Christian beliefs.  We believe that for one to properly grow in their understanding of our Lord and the Word of God, they must possess a solid understanding of the foundational building blocks of the biblical Christian faith.  For without such a foundational understanding upon which to build one’s faith, the growing Christian makes themselves susceptible to false Christian doctrines and beliefs. 

In Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount,” He spoke of two men who built their houses on two types of foundations:

“’Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.  But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.’”  (NKJ:  Matthew 7:24-27)

Building one’s understanding of the Bible is very analogous to this parable.  For if one builds their biblical beliefs by first establishing a strong understanding of the foundational biblical principles, then, as they build upon that solid foundation, they can be assured of building a sound belief structure that will not later crumble when challenge or adversity attack it.  However, if one does not diligently spend time building a strong understanding of foundational biblical principles, then they will be building their biblical understanding on what may be shaky ground, which could later result in an unsound understanding of God's Word.

Hence, the genesis of the website name, “Foundation For Our Faith,” who’s goal it is to equip the Christian believer with a solid understanding of the foundational Christian beliefs upon which a sound biblical belief structure may be built.

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, the only infallible and inerrant authoritative Word of God.  

 

We believe the Bible is as relevant today as it was when it was first written several thousand years ago.

 

We believe in a literal translation of the Bible except when the context suggests otherwise.

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His atoning blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe the regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man and in His present ministry by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe that a person is saved solely through placing their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, apart from their works.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church, and the pre-millenial view that there will be a literal thousand-year rule of Jesus Christ here on earth which is yet future.

We believe in the freewill of humankind in that each of us has the ability to choose whether to receive the free gift of eternal salvation through accepting Jesus Christ as one’s personal Lord and Savior, or to reject this free gift from God, thus sentencing oneself to an eternity of damnation apart from God.
