Memorial For A Friend

I recently lost a very special friend of mine, Russ Willett.  Though I am very happy for him in that he is now with our Lord in Heaven, I am very sad that he is no longer in my life.  Russ and I would joke that we were each other’s spiritual soulmates.  He was the biggest fan and encourager for my website, always sharing this site with his friends, and giving me so many encouraging words.  We could spend hours together discussing the Bible, sharing with each other the insights we had learned, and we were both big fans of End Times prophecies and the book of Revelation.  I remember many a night when I would visit Russ and his family, and after his wife and daughter would go to bed, we would stay up hours into the night talking about our latest finds in God’s Word.  Those are such special memories that I will hold with me for the rest of my life.

Russ was one of those individuals where when you were with him there was never a dull moment.   He was always full of interesting stories, jokes, imitations, and I will never forget his modified versions of the themes for “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “Cops”. Then there was his cat-that-ate-the-canary smile. One could not help but to be in good cheer when he was around.

Russ was a wonderful friend, and my life’s journey will now be a little lonelier without him in it.  I look forward to the day when I will again be united with my friend, and I am sure that he will have all sorts of new insights to share with me.
